That bass and perc made me think of "susumu hirasawa". While i'm not a big fan of the bell part, the synth texture and droplets work well with the rest.
I liked the various brass, didn't think it was "too much" (or you could always downsample them) and despite their rythm sounding "programmed and robotic"; in this case, it fits the genre well.

I felt like exploring a sewer under a secret base, trying to avoid robotic rodents shooting laser from their eyes.

Pretty catchy

Sorry if i sound like an old record, but its as good as usual^^
Always a treat!

KrinnValKhristi responds:

Awwww thanks Daru! :)

Very nice track, is that a dulcimer?
Reminds me of Arcana.
I like that you tried to recreate the "simpler" sound of that era, minimal effects, melodies coming in and out quite harshly, because of midi limitations of the time.

SirSandman0 responds:

the instrument at the beginning is just a midi harp, but it does kind of sound like a dulcimer. Thanks for the feedback!

Mecha Giorgio Moroder goes hunting!

Fantastic soundscape!
Can feel the aftermath, but still being in the eye of the storm, with more problems on the horizon.

I like these kind of voxsynths, when they naturally start detuning, they really create eerie and beautiful reverbs, and are so fun to play with.
The whispering lamenting voices here and there integrate well.
Did you do that "demon" voice? Good job!

LD-W responds:

Yep! My own voice which has been reversed + ran through FreakshowIndustries Dumpster Fire

Good idea to create a story from all the layers.
Feels like i'm going to uncover some dark secret.
I sure would like to see a few variations in this, but it might be the specific genre that demands it.

The sound in itself is good, and well mixed; the reverbs, subs and tails aren't "jumping" around out of control like it's often the case in similar tracks, instead there is almost a granular/noise pattern in it that makes it sounds good. Maybe a side effect, but it's a nice touch!

Curious to see what giant terraforming machinery, or crazy cult we are going to discover!

I have no idea what vapor trap is supossed to sound like; for some reasons, the intro bubbly sounds makes me think of a demo for another native instruments expansion or something that could be used in a commercial.

Samples or synth, the sounds are well made, the samples don't show stretching, the kick saturation in particular is "just what's needed", and glues everything together nicely.

Pretty lil' song.

Wow, very nice results considering the additionnal self imposed rules!
The track indeed feels like a ritual ceremony and it seems that humbaba was successfully summoned, for better or worse^^
I like the careful sound selection, and variety of rythms.
Maybe certain parts were a bit repetitive, but in such short time, can't blame you for not finetuning everything.

The middle part was a nice surprise and change of pace, beautiful orionstring chords there and atmospheric flyby before returning to serious buisness in the forest and completing the ritual!
Well done, and i'll check your music again :)

Side note: While the track doesn't sound too bass heavy on my system/headphones (my room has horrible sound anyway), i didn't think it was a bad thing at all!
Maybe i'm from a different generation and culture, but not all music has to be bass heavy all the time imho.
But if that's your goal, then build the track as bass heavy from the very start, but you'll still need high frequencies and silences to put contrast emphasis on that low end!

I could see this music played in the middle of a raveset, when everyone is already immersed and in transe; the kick rythm doesnt need to be too complex, but the rest of track will further immerse people in.
So much work was put in these soundscapes and especially the drum transitions, starting with a simple sweep/reverse kick at 0:38 and becoming more and more complex as the ambience evolves. And none of them felt out of place or taking me out of the immersion.
Your sound palette reminded me of artists like Manu Le Malin a bit.

Very enjoyable and inspiring!

Salut, I create music and cg. Enjoy!
