Youpi! Tout le monde au cimetière!

Not sure what you mean with "minus subtitle", so my comment below might not apply
- imho, the title and signature clash too much with the rest, just a little too bright.
I'd like to see them blending more (like a watermark but not fading as much as the background shadows, but not RGB 255-255-255 colgate pure white either, to keep the mysterious and dramatic feeling)-

Otherwise, it's a nice little cemetery i totally wouldn't want to visit at night :D
I'm sure it's haunted by ghosts of newgrounders.

The stone material looks like a clever use of filter. Or maybe a custom brush? Anyway it's pretty convincing and fits with the drawing style.

SuperUltra nitpicking:
- The right side of the crack on the "in loving memory" tombstone should be thicker according to perspective)
- The wooden cross in the should be visible in the gap beewteen the tombstones, a line seems to be missing, or maybe... it's floating in the air and.... AHHHHH!

Troisnyx responds:

Minus subtitle meant that the cover was lacking its subtitle: "The First Dramatic Anthology from the Writers of Newgrounds," which @Tremax was going to do in simple font. Sketchbook Express, to my knowledge, has no font input.

The stone was indeed a filter. On that note, the filter did also render the signature into #FFFFFF when it should have been something along the lines of #B0B0B0 -- really couldn't help it there.....

Point taken about the cracks. Also, the cross which seems to be "floating in the air" actually has its stem jutting out from behind the gravestones, but it's not evident. Although floating in the air might be a good effect for it...^_-

Nice start^^!

Thanks! The start of a hard road to improvement. .-.

Superb lighting and texture.
I can almost feel the heat of the desert through my screen.

Great inking and the lighting is really impressive.
The haze gives a good sense of depht.
The highlights, rimlights and color transitions really help defining the type of "materials" (lava, stone, skin, shell etc), this is what like most in this picture.

Thanks a lot for the really positive comment, and for pointing out some specifics of where you think I'm getting it right, that's useful feedback ;)

Why do you put a description? You already managed to explain everything with the picture! :D

I like the idea and composition, it's well balanced, imo the background wing positioning is a bit off, too low, or the curve is too steep maybe.
And at the same time, viewer can focus on the universe without being distracted, and i think it's more important than design accuracy.

Crisp details enhanced by great lighting, subtle contrast and rimlights.
Unlike JJ Abrams, with all those stars, you didn't go overboard adding lens flares everywhere, killing my eyes in the process, so thanks.
Also, good use of DOF.

Now I am curious to "see" Vusuuk :)

Amaruuk responds:

Haha, thank you so much! And yes, he'll be designed when I get to it. These things kinda just happen when they happen but when there's a pair, ya gotta have both :)

Good compositing, i like the character designs, material and light are well done, especially the rim lights.

The only little thing that could be tweaked are the shadows. Their orientation doesn't match the light source, and the shadow on the right would not be straight because of the ground elevation.
I'm just nitpicking.

Salut, I create music and cg. Enjoy!
